I have type 2 diabetes, and my legs have hurt so badly from neuropathy, that I can hardly walk to the mailbox.

I have had 2 heart attacks which have left me very weak.

I also broke my right upper arm and busted my shoulder all to pieces from a fall. They glued it back together and put a rod and screws into the bone to hold everything together.

My granddaughter, Brianna, is a coach at CrossFit Memorial Hill, and asked me if she could work with me, to try to help me get some strength back. I said, “Oh honey, I can not do CrossFit. That would be too much for me.” Finally she talked me into it and my daughter, Lisa, drives me to The Hill every week on Wednesday.

I am here to tell you, that my diabetes has dropped 100 points, It is closer to normal than it has been in years. My energy levels have improved 95% or more.  I am no longer in bed all day everyday, in fact, I no longer take naps. I am able to actually go and help others who are in greater need.

No. This program is designed around activities of daily living for aging Americans. We will increase strength and muscular endurance to be able to perform normal life functions, such as walking to get mail, being able to sit down and stand back up, taking small sets of stairs, picking things up from the floor, carrying items such as laundry, and being able to get off the floor should a fall occur.

Classes will be held two days per week on Tuesday and Thursday at 9:00am.

Classes are 30 minutes long and instructed by one or two coaches, depending upon class size. We will do some range of motion activities followed by some strengthening work and some functional daily living activity skills.
