Are you taking additional safety precautions to restrict the spread of COVID-19?
Yes. We have dedicated significant resources to ensure your safety and to help you feel at ease during uncertain times. This page is full of steps we're taking to prioritize your safety. There is also a survey at the bottom of this page for you to provide your feedback.
Can I bring my kids to the gym?
Yes, but with restrictions. Please see kids area information below.
Must I complete an introductory program to join the gym?
We've kept very good data over the last several years. And the data showed us that an 1-on-1 introductory program leads to the best long-term results for you.
However, you can take any non-CrossFit offering without completing an introductory program. This includes: red/line classes, yoga classes, and any other programs that don't involve more complex movements.
Do I need to reserve a spot in class ahead of time?
Health and government officials have asked that businesses maintain 30 days of records and encourage reservations for all appointments. Please help us control the flow of traffic by reserving your spot in a class or open gym time.
Do I need to reserve Open Gym? May I reserve multiple hours?
For the time being we ask that you only reserve a single session per day so we can guarantee as many spots as possible. We will open up additional class times and open gym slots as restrictions ease. If you need help getting in a good workout in an hour, talk to Coach Josh :)
Do you require contracts or hidden "facility fees"?
Hell no. Signing a contract will never be a requirement.
We hate that kind of stuff. And, frankly, we're embarrassed that our colleagues in the industry feel that's OK.
We do, however, offer 6- and 12- month contracts and pass along a discount for each. But we also have a month-to-month option as well. Your workout. Your choice.
And cancellation is simple: tell us you're done 30 days ahead of time and we cancel your membership. No certified mail. No awkward meetings. No B.S.
Do I need to sign a contract for FitPass?
Nope. Whenever you want to stop your FitPass, you simply provide a 30-day email notice to cancel your FitPass.
What if I want to take extra classes or do Open Gym?
Your FitPass is good for 3 classes each week. If you would like to add more classes or additional services from one or more of the studios, you can add those with the studio instructors.

How do the memberships work?
We have two main types of payment plans:
- Recurring: a monthly payment that occurs on the same date each month until you stop it.
- Sessions: a "punch card" of classes or private coaching sessions that expire after 3 months.
We have three main types of membership:
- Unlimited Group Classes: a recurring monthly payment that is good for CrossFit, Open Gym, and Specialty Courses.
- Private Coaching: We offer single sessions, 5 packs, and 10 packs that expire after 3 months. Available as 30- or 60- minute session options.

I'm traveling to Kansas City and I'd like to drop in for a class. How do I do that?
- Drop-In’s are for current, active members of REGISTERED CROSSFIT AFFILIATES only.
We’re so excited that you want to introduce your co-worker to CrossFit for the first time, but dropping into a gym is not the best way to do this. We recommend you have your friend go through a proper onboarding program at a home gym.
- Do not show up to class without reserving a spot.
Our coaches are top-notch in their field becuase they spend a significant amount of time preparing lesson plans for their classes. Trying to get waivers signed and drop-in’s processed distracts from this preparation.
RESERVE YOUR SPOT HERE >
- Carefully read the following FAQ’s:
- What’s your drop-in fee?

Due to the high volume of Drop-in’s we receive, we cannot provide programming ahead of time to travelers. Our WOD is posted at 8pm the night before HERE >

What's the difference between CrossFit and red/line?
The results are the same, but the structure is different.
CrossFit:
- Incorporates more complex movement progressions.
- Focuses heavily on movement instruction learning how your body is supposed to move.
- Incorporates barbell and gymnastics movements.
- Is done in 1-hour classes.
red/line:
- Is a 30-minute class.
- Does not involve complex movement progressions.
- Contains minimal movement and body awareness instruction.
- Does not require an intro program.
If you're used to the $10/month gym membership, this will seem very expensive to you. If you've done personal training before, this will seem very inexpensive.
The Hill is one of an emerging type of fitness facility. Some have called it "boutique" or "concierge" fitness. What does that mean?
Simply put, if you're a member here we expect that you come here to work out.
Seems crazy, right?! But did you know...
For nearly a century, the fitness business model was built upon it's members NEVER working out. As I'm sure you know, it's easy to get really motivated when you first sign up for that $10 gym membership, but you have no accountability to actually step foot in the door.
In fact, the $10/month gyms don't want you to use the facility. If more than 10% of their members actually showed up they couldn't fit them in the building.
We decided to build a gym where we plan on every member achieving the results they want. This means that we have less members, more individualized attention, and a coach who is available to you at any time at no additional cost.
Will the showers be open?
Showers and changing areas are currently open for use. Please use the facilities responsibly and maintain social distancing at all times.
Will you still offer online options?
Yes. There will still be online workout options available during Phase I of re-opening.
I'm an experienced CrossFitter moving to Kansas City. What are my next steps?

At this meeting we can go over our program options, you can check out the facilities, and come up with a personalized plan going forward.
You can schedule these meetings up to 24 hours in advance.
After this meeting, a coach will give you a coupon code to take a complimentary class before moving forward.

From there, everyone completes a program call Fundamentals where you’ll work 1-on-1 with a coach. During this time, you’ll be able to safely and sustainable tailor your on-boarding process to your current abilities.

I heard CrossFit is dangerous. Is it safe?
We certainly recommend you do your own research, but our experience has shown that injury rates in CrossFit – specifically at our affiliate – are incredibly low. In fact, almost 3 times lower than jogging.
We’ve found that listening to your coach, leaving your ego at the door, and taking a sustainable outlook on your fitness tend to be the best safeguard against injury.
Do I have to be in shape to start?
This is a very common concern for almost anyone trying something new for the first time. In fact, we’ve trained professional athletes and great-grandmothers alike who have all felt the same way.
The only way get over this fear is to just start! At The Hill we have an individualized on-boarding program called Fundamentals. Fundaments is entirely customized and completed 1-on-1 with a coach. If fact, you’ll even complete your first group class with your Fundamentals coach by your side!
We believe that no two people are the same and, therefore, strive to customize our programs for each athlete.
